Our Outreach

We are constantly seeking God for new ways of calling people into His kingdom. These are just some of the things we are up to ......

  • Our last Alpha Course finished a few weeks ago, and we are planning another for the end of the year. (Official UK site)
  • We visit the local markets to befriend, encourage, pray for folks, invite them to services, and look for opportunites to share the gospel.
  • There are an ever increasing number of prostitutes in this district. My wife Lynette and others are actively seeking ways to help them and have had much encouragement from those they have already spoken to, prayed for, cared for, and showed Christian love towards.
  • We are always encouraging our congregation that it is a primary task to reach out to their friends, family, neighbours and acquaintances (and sometimes strangers on the street!) with love, helps, prayer, and when the time is right to share the Gospel with them.

Here's a short study on our viewpoint on Mission ... ie we're ALL missionaries!

Mission =

“Organized effort to spread the Christian faith. St. Paul evangelized much of Asia Minor and Greece, and the new religion spread rapidly along the trade routes of the Roman Empire.”          (Encyclopedia Britannica)

1 Samuel 15:20 And Saul said to Samuel, "But I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and gone on the mission on which the LORD sent me, "

1 Samuel 15:18     Now the LORD sent you on a mission, and said, 'Go,       NKJV

Acts 12:24-25  But the word of the Lord continued to grow and to be multiplied. And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their mission, taking along with them John, who was also called Mark.           NASU

Luke 10:1-4 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.  He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.  Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.    NIV

Matthew 10:5-7 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.      NIV

Mark 16:15-16 He (Jesus) said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.        NIV

Matthew 28:19 (Jesus said) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,      NIV

If we are sent out by God then it is on a mission, by definition. It is by Jesus’ own command that we go on missions as missionaries.

“It was the great theologian Karl Barth who said that the word of God is not in the Bible but to be discovered through the bible. The word mission may not therefore be literally in the Bible but “mitto” means to send and the God of the Bible is a sending God. At creation God sends His Spirit to the world. Abraham is sent by him, Moses is sent by him to the people of Israel, Jonah is sent to Nineveh, the prophets are sent to Israel and of course Jesus is also sent by God (“I have been sent by the Father” to quote the Jesus of St John’s Gospel). So too Jesus sends out the twelve and then the seventy and after the resurrection he sends out all his followers into the world to proclaim the good news. “As the Father has sent me, so I send you”. God is a missionary God, a sending God, and God’s people are a missionary people, a sending people if they are his followers. It is therefore impossible to talk about God without talking about mission and it is impossible to talk about the church without talking about mission. Mission is central to the Church’s life because it is central to God. The church exists in being sent.
