From the very beginning of The King’s Church, we’ve made it a priority to identify, train, and equip men for the role of elder. We’re convinced—both biblically and theologically—that God designed His church to be led by a plurality of godly men. That’s the pattern we see throughout Scripture (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, 1 Peter 5)
Many people tend to think of the word “pastor” as someone who’s in full-time ministry. But in the Bible, the terms pastor and elder are used interchangeably. They refer to the same office and the same responsibility. That’s why we use those words the same way here. When we say “pastor” or “elder,” we’re talking about the same role.
And that role isn’t honorary or symbolic—it’s weighty. New Testament elders were leaders, shepherds, examples, disciple-makers. These were mature believers with tested character. They taught the Word, cared for the church, defended sound doctrine, dealt with conflict, made disciples, and raised up future leaders. That’s the kind of leadership we pray for and pursue at The King’s Church.
