Welcome to Small Groups at The King’s Church! At TKC we hold fast to the idea that following Jesus isn’t something that just happens as a church on a Sunday morning, but also every other day in the ordinary moments of life and in community. We adopt the same ideas of the early believers referenced in Acts 2 and heed the over 50 “one another’s” commanded in scripture.
The goal of every small group is to grow in personal affection for Jesus, His Word, and His people so that they might become more like Jesus.
Hebrews 10:23-24 says it best, “Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
A small group is a weekly gathering of 7-15 people seeking to grow deeper in their relationship with God in community.
Small group gatherings consist of fellowship (often including a meal), studying scripture, discussing the sermon, and praying together. And perhaps over time, you may even find yourself experiencing “community” with one another.
Groups follow a general semester schedule lasting about 15 weeks. Fall term: September – December, Spring term: February – May.
Small groups meet on various evenings of the week in homes throughout the community.
Whatever works best for you! Each group is welcome to all ages and stages of life so pick a group that works best for you based on your location and weekly schedule. Whichever you choose, we suggest you commit for the entire season. It takes time to develop community and commitment plays a role in that.
Joining a small group means committing to attend weekly gatherings and coming prepared. When everyone does this, the whole group thrives!
Each Group handles kids being a part of their group differently. The groups that have a plan for kids can be found by looking at the digital catalog that are marked “childcare available.”
